The Ambient Weather WS-YG315 Classic Weather Station is a traditional and sophisticated instrument that combines a barometer, hygrometer, and thermometer in a handsome wood-framed design. Suitable for any fine study, office, library, upscale restaurant, or scientific laboratory, this weather station measures temperature (in °F and °C), barometric pressure (mbar and inHg), and indoor humidity (%).

The barometer, the key component of the weather station, uses an aneroid mechanism to detect changes in atmospheric pressure, providing an estimate of weather changes in the next 24 to 48 hours.

It is recommended to lightly tap the glass near the center brass knob before taking a barometer reading, as this helps overcome any friction that may affect the accuracy of the hand readings, especially during periods of slow atmospheric changes. The barometer also features a manually set needle, which can be used to mark the current measurement, allowing changes to be easily tracked.

For accurate calibration, the aneroid barometer has a small screw on the back for sea-level adjustment. By turning the screw with a flat blade screwdriver while observing the indicator needle, the proper pressure reading can be obtained.
